Our Occupational Health and Safety program provides effective, contextualized training for home care workers to reduce workplace injuries and better identify hazards on the job. The program is delivered in a workshop model by peer home care workers who are also trainers. Instruction and materials are available in English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.
The program includes several core components:
- Identifying and evaluating workplace hazards and using practical, cost-effective hazard control measures
- Creating and maintaining practices to create a safe workplace
- Engaging in learning activities that foster compliance with regulations and prevent workplace accidents, illnesses and injuries
- Addressing biological, physical and chemical hazards that home care workers face on the job
